MCC Announces Discontinuation of Men's & Women's Lacrosse Programs
ROCHESTER, NY - Monroe Community College (MCC) has announced the discontinuation of its men's and women's lacrosse programs following a thorough review of the sport at the national and regional levels. This decision reflects MCC's ongoing commitment to providing a robust and sustainable athletic program.
Director of Athletics Aaron Bouyea expressed gratitude for the contributions of both programs, noting their impressive history of success at the National Junior College level. "We have been incredibly proud of the achievements of our men's and women's lacrosse teams," Bouyea remarked. "MCC has long been a leader in the lacrosse community. The decision to discontinue the lacrosse programs was not taken lightly. It resulted from careful deliberation and analysis of various factors affecting the sustainability of lacrosse at the two-year college level."
MCC will work closely with affected student-athletes and staff to assist in their transition and explore opportunities for continued athletic and academic success.
