Rochester, NY.- The Monroe Community College baseball team hosted the Niagara Thunderwolves earlier this afternoon in a double header matchup. The Thunderwolves took an early lead in game one but Monroe was able to hold them off and score nine. The game resulted in a 9-5 victory for the Tribunes. Niagara again, jumped to an early lead in the first inning but MCC was able to come back and tie it up 4-4 in the fourth. The Thunderwolves were able to get their bat on the ball and ended up scoring two more runs. Game two finished with a 6-4 loss for the Tribunes.
Game 1
Max Schmarder went 2-3 with an RBI.
Patrick May tripled and earned a stolen base.
Ben Beauchamp and Joe Wintermute had four putouts each.
Game 2
Beauchamp (2), Schmarder and Dylan Wanat all earned RBI's.
Griffin Dietrich threw six innings, striking out eight.
The Tribunes are back on the field this Sunday when they host Lackawanna College at 1 pm.
