#16 Tribunes Prevail Over Jamestown Community College, 77-50
JAMESTOWN, NY - Monroe Community College showcased their dominant performance in a decisive 77-50 victory over Jamestown Community College on Monday night.
With the win, Monroe improved their record to 19-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while Jamestown fell to 4-21 The first half set the tone for Monroe, who raced out to a 39-24 lead at halftime.
The visiting Tribunes shot an impressive 51.4% from the floor, converting 36 of 70 attempts.
Latrell Mark was a standout for Monroe, coming off the bench to contribute 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Jaheem Tyson added 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Omar White chipped in with 10 points. Denarius McCurty and Christopher Judge each scored six points, playing a crucial role in a well-balanced offensive attack.
Jamestown's Federico Foddai led his team with 15 points, followed by Tamir Barrant with 13. However, The Tribunes defense came to play, causing the Jayhawks to commit 23 turnovers, which the Tribs capitalized on to extend their lead.
Monroe's defensive strategy proved effective as they recorded 13 steals, stifling Jamestown's ability to execute their offensive plays.
The Tribunes maintained their firm grip on the game, outscoring Jamestown 38-26 in the second half.
The two teams will be back in action soon, as they will each conclude their regular seasons against one another at Monagan Court on Saturday, February 22nd.
