DUNMORE, PA - Another dominant performance for the #19 MCC Men's Soccer Program as they took care of the Lackawanna Falcons 4-1. Despite the Falcons' attempts to slow down the red-hot Tribunes by playing a conservative, defense-heavy style, MCC's relentless attack proved too much to contain.
The breakthrough came early when Ollie Weir put in the Tribs' first goal in the 15th minute. The Tribunes finished the first half with 12 shots and just one goal, but by the second half, the barrage of attacks proved to be too much as the Tribunes were able to put in another goal, this time scored by Gabriele "Pepe" Sellati (Montebelluna, Italy), his first of the year, assisted by Liam Cowie (Aberdeen, Scotland) in the 70th minute.
The floodgates opened in the 84th minute when Sora Kozaki (Saitama, Japan) scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Justin Krampl (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), in the 84th minute. Lackawanna fought back, with Sebastian Carmona scoring a late goal off an assist from Tyler Pepsin, briefly reducing the deficit to 3-1; but, soon after Charlie Gaskin (Dunlop, Scotland) would return the MCC lead to three goals by scoring a few minutes later off a Justice Hinman (Spencerport, NY) assist.
The 4-1 scoreline highlighted MCC's superiority, as they showcased why they are ranked among the top teams in the country. With fluid passing, relentless attacking, and a strong defensive line, the Tribunes controlled the game from start to finish.
MCC will look to continue their winning streak against Nazareth JV on Monday, Sept. 9th.
