Lady Tribs hold off Kats

ROCHESTER - Karin Robinson (Queens, NY/Mary Louis Academy) had 16 points, eight rebounds, and six steals to lead the MCC women's basketball team to a 70-55 win over Erie CC on Monagan Court Saturday night.

The win moved Monroe to 20-5 on the season.

Robinson had 12 of her 16 in the second half, and MCC forced 16 turnovers in the final 20 minutes to help pull away.  The Tribunes overcame 32 percent shooting on the night to get the win.

Tyese Purvis (Queens, NY/Francis Lewis) came off the bench to score 16 for MCC.  Dionne Coe (Brooklyn, NY/Murry Bergtraum) added nine points, and Donisha Watson (Bronx, NY/Mount Vernon) had six points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocks.

Monroe forced 30 turnovers and turned the miscues into 22 points.  The Tribunes finished 20-for-31 from the free throw line.
