Coe leads Tribunes past Baltimore City
MCC improves to 5-0 with the victory.
BALTIMORE - Dionne Coe lead the MCC Lady Tribunes in scoring a year ago, and her hot start to this season has coincided with a perfect 5-0 record.
Coe had a team-high 20 points for the second consecutive day as Monroe held off Baltimore City CC 54-52 Sunday afternoon. Coe also had 20 in a 115-46 win over Harcum Saturday. She connected on five 3-pointers to go along with five rebounds and two steals.
The Tribunes led by eight with just over a minute remaining before BCCC hit a pair of free throws, a 3-pointer, and a layup to cut it to 54-52. The Tribunes missed a pair from the line with 4.6 seconds left on the clock, but Baltimore couldn't get a shot off.
Africa Williams was the only other Tribune in double figures with 12. Ayana Ratliff finished with eight points, Tyra Jones had six points and 10 rebounds, and Rose Ayala pulled down 11 boards.
