Balanced effort leads MCC women past F-MCC
All nine players score in the 79-40 victory.
JOHNSTOWN, NY - All nine players figured into the box score as the MCC women's basketball team took care of Fulton-Montgomery CC 79-40 on the road Thursday.
The Lady Tribunes led by 13 at the break before outscoring F-MCC 41-15 over the final 20 minutes. MCC is now 10-1 on the season.
Africa Williams led the way with 17 points for Monroe. The freshman guard connected on 5-of-10 from long distance to go along with four rebounds and three steals.
Tyra Jones finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Ayana Ratliff and Deaisia Acklin added nine points apiece. Ratliff also dished out nine assists and had five steals.
Rose Ayala tallied eight points and seven rebounds, Dionne Coe had six points, six rebounds, and four assists, and Tanisha Barr also scored six. Bailey Hixson and Nubia Haynes rounded out the scoring with four apiece.
MCC finished with 22 assists on 31 made baskets. The team also 15 steals and nine blocks, four of which were swatted away by Haynes.
