ROCHESTER - The MCC women's basketball team shot a season-best 60 percent from the field en route to a 101-48 victory over Jamestown Community College Thursday evening.
The Tribunes converted 40-of-67 from the field, including 11-for-21 from beyond the arc. Ball movement was key as Monroe registered 29 assists, led by 11 from sophomore point guard Ayana Ratliff.
MCC jumped out to a 45-27 lead at the break, paced by eight points apiece from Dionne Coe and Nubia Haynes.
The Tribunes then put on a clinic in a torrid second half, hitting 21 of their 30 shots. Bailey Hixson went 4-for-5 from long range over the final 20 minutes and finished with a game-high 19 points.
Coe finished with 15 points, while Tyra Jones added 13 points and seven rebounds. Haynes added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Deaisia Acklin also had 12. Ratliff tallied 1o points.
