Lady Tribunes roll past Erie
MCC allows a season-low point total in the WNYAC win.
BUFFALO - Though most of the shots weren't falling for the MCC women's basketball team Thursday evening, a tenacious defense gearing for a postseason run was more than enough to get the job done.
The Tribunes (9-0 WNYAC, 23-1 overall) allowed a season-low in points en route to a 67-17 victory over host Erie Community College. The win pushed Monroe's winning streak to 18 games.
MCC shot just 33 percent form the floor (25-for-75), but another stalwart defensive effort was all the team needed.
Bailey Hixson led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds for the Tribunes. Kiki Bynes added 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Adre'onia Coleman stuffed the stat sheet tot he tune of eight points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.
MCC wraps up the regular season on the road at Niagara County this Saturday. The Tribunes will host the Region III, Division II tournament, Feb. 28-March 1.
