Lady Tribunes split weekend games

New Rochelle, NY.- This past weekend, Monroe Community College women's basketball team traveled alongside the men's team to Monroe College down in New Rochelle, NY to take part in their annual MAC Mixer. Going head-to-head with the Mustangs on Saturday and Nassau Community College on Sunday, the Tribunes split between the two days, falling 71-48 to the Mustangs and stealing a 56-47 victory over Nassau. After this weekend, Monroe sits at 7-8 overall on the season.

January 7th vs Monroe College - L, 71-48

Khamera Muhammad was the lead scorer for the Tribunes with 16 points.

Apollonia Desuze finished with 13 rebounds and six assists.

January 8th vs Nassau Community College - W, 56-47

Muhammad again led the team and was the standout player for the Tribunes with 19 points and 18 rebounds.

Darriell Johnson ended the day with 10 rebounds and three steals.

Monroe is home tomorrow January 10th when they host Tompkins Cortland CC at 4 pm.
