Lady Tribunes Open Conference Play With a Win, Defeat Erie 60-47

ORCHARD PARK N.Y. - Monroe Community College defeated Erie Community College with a final score of 60-47. With the win the Lady Tribunes advance to a record of 6-11 overall and 1-0 in conference play. 

The game started off strongly for Monroe Community College, as they scored 23 points in the first quarter compared to Erie Community College's 8 points. Monroe Community College continued to dominate in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 17-12. The third quarter saw Monroe Community College maintain their lead with a score of 14-7. However, Erie Community College made a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points compared to Monroe Community College's 6 points. Despite the late surge from the Kats, the Lady Tribunes held on to win the game.

Cierra Grant was the top performer for Monroe Community College, scoring 26 points and shooting 11-19 from the field. Niani Downing also had a strong game, contributing 10 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists. On the other side, Mia Special led Erie Community College with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
