AUBURN, New York - The MCC volleyball team put together a flawless effort Saturday, sweeping three matches during a Region III pod tournament at Cayuga CC.
The Tribunes improved to 7-0 in regional play and 13-0 overall. Monroe has won its last 16 sets and has only dropped four sets total during its season-opening win streak.
Montana Vescovi finished with 103 assists total on the day. The freshman leads NJCAA Division III in assists per set.
Monroe opened by defeating Onondaga 25-11, 25-21, 25-11. Vescovi had 33 assists, while Chelsey Luce added 11 kills and Jessica Jenkins totaled 13 digs.
MCC then topped Jefferson 25-16, 25-20, 25-22. Rose Ayala tallied 10 kills, while Vescovi dished out 37 assists.
The Tribunes finished the day by defeating Cayuga 25-11, 25-18, 25-16. Vescovi capped the day with 33 more assists.
