Tribunes sweep Kats on sophomore night
MCC defeats Erie in the home finale.
ROCHESTER - The MCC volleyball team celebrated its sophomores and its final home game of the season with a sweep of visiting Erie Community College Tuesday evening.
The Tribunes prevailed 25-7, 25-15, 25-9 to improve to 33-1 on the season. Monroe is also 5-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play and will be the top seed in this weekend's WNYAC tournament at Mercyhurst North East.
MCC also honored its three departing sophomores, Jessica Jenkins, Danielle LeBlanc, and Emily Butler, who played their final home match on Monagan Court.
Dayle Taber finished with 11 kills and six digs and Montana Vescovi added 28 assists and six digs for the Tribunes. Rose Ayala added six kills in six attempts.
Jenkins chipped in with 13 digs and three aces and LeBlanc tallied eight digs. Butler totaled three kills and Chelsey Luce contributed three aces.
