MCC dominates in opening Pod tournament

The Tribunes get off to a great start in regional play.

HUDSON, New York - The MCC volleyball team kicked off regional play in style Saturday, sweeping all four matches in a Region III Pod tournament at Columbia-Greene Community College.

The Tribunes (4-0 Region, 10-0 overall) maintained a perfect start to the season. Monroe has yet to lose a set this year.

Rose Ayala tallied 25 kills and 12 digs to pace a potent MCC attack. Montana Vescovi had 113 assists on the day, and Rachael Nicholls came up with 40 digs.

The Tribunes started by defeating SUNY Adirondack 25-15, 25-13, 25-15.  Monroe then took down host Columbia-Greene 25-3, 25-17, 25-6.

MCC finished the day off by defeating North Country 25-5, 25-6, 25-8, and Hudson Valley 25-11, 25-9, 25-15.
