MCC sweeps Niagara
The Tribunes take the WNYAC match in straight sets.
ROCHESTER - The MCC volleyball team earned a sweep of visiting Niagara County Community College in a Western New York Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday evening.
The Tribunes won 25-16, 25-21, 25-23 to improve to 2-1 in the WNYAC and 9-6 overall.
Tessa Engel put together a standout performance for Monroe. The freshman outside hitter had 12 kills and no errors to go along with 10 digs for the double-double.
Essence Britt came up big in the middle with three kills and four blocks for the Tribunes. Jessica Marini added 21 assists.
MCC travels to Batavia this weekend for a Region III pod match. Monroe will face Mohawk Valley, Fulton-Montgomery, and Herkimer at Genesee Community College.
