MCC wins two out of three

The Tribunes drop a match to Onondaga before rebounding.

CANANDAIGUA, New York - The MCC volleyball team suffered its first defeat of the season on Saturday, but came back to win its next two contests in a Region III pod match at Finger Lakes Community College.

The Tribunes (11-1) dropped a tight match to unbeaten Onondaga 25-23, 27-25, 26-24 to start the day. Monroe then fought back to take down Jefferson 25-10, 25-22, 27-25, and Cayuga 25-15, 27-25, 25-19.

MCC is 5-1 in Region III play.

Tessa Engel totaled 43 kills and 30 digs on the day. Andrea Green added 23 kills, 17 digs, and 14 blocks, while Chelsea Steinruck tallied 11 kills and 25 digs. Cherelle Grant chipped in with 11 kills and 11 blocks.
