Tribunes Lose to #4 FLCC 3-0
ROCHESTER, NY - In a tough match, the MCC Tribunes lost 3-0 against their conference rivals, #4 Finger Lakes Community College as the technical skill proved to be too much for the Tribunes.
Monroe Tribunes struggled to find their rhythm offensively, tallying 20 kills but committing 20 errors, ending with a team-hitting percentage of -.086. Kylee Storch (Williamsville, NY) led Monroe with 5 kills but had a challenging time at the net, hitting just -.050. Madalyn Robinson (Attica, NY) contributed 4 kills but also had 8 errors, resulting in a -.143 hitting percentage.
On the defensive side, Robinson stood out with 14 digs, while Sydney Martin (Chittenango, NY) and Storch added 8 and 12 digs, respectively, helping to keep rallies alive. However, the Tribunes' service game faltered, committing 10 receiving errors, despite some strong serving from Storch, who notched 3 aces.
Ultimately, Monroe's combination of attack errors, service miscues, and the inability to generate sustained offensive pressure made it difficult to compete with Finger Lakes, who dominated each set with efficient play.
The Tribs will look to turn their season around as they travel to Erie Community College for a WYNAC POD.
